John the Baptist was beheaded. (Matthew 14; 1–12) John the Baptist was in prison when he had a moment of doubt. In his captivity, he sent and asked for reassurance that Jesus was the Christ. Jesus sent word back that the lame walk, the dumb talk, and the blind are made to see! Not only that, the sick are healed, the dead are raised to life and the good news is being proclaimed to the poor (Luke 7:22). Jesus is the Christ – for sure! He quoted this Old Testament prophecy to John to let him know. Jesus will reassure you in your heart today. All you have to do is ask him. Don’t remain in doubt another day! If your life were in danger because of your faith, wouldn’t you want to know for sure that you are a Christian – for real, and not just in name? You don’t want to be almost Christian. You want to know that you know that Jesus is the one who is able to resurrect you in the last day. Are you trusting that He is the resurrection and the life?
